AMALFI
Amalfi, gives its name to the section of the peninsula on which it stands, the Amalfi coast, which since 1997 has been declared UNESCO World Heritage site. The foundation of Amalfi is attributed to the Romans, which reached its peak in the eleventh century AD, then began a rapid decline: in 1131 it was conquered by the Normans, and in 1135 and 1137 plundered by the Pisans. In 1343, a thunderstorm resulting tidal wave destroyed much of the city. The most famous monument of Amalfi is certainly the Cathedral in Arab-Sicilian style and dedicated to St. Andrew, patron of the city.

RAVELLO
Ravello was an important town of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi and therefore became an important trading power in the Mediterranean between 839-1200. The sea trade brought great wealth to Ravello and merchant families such as the Rufulo, Rogadei, Muscettola and the Confalone filled the town with valuable works of art. It was considered among the most important and noble cities in the Kingdom of Naples. Between the 18th and 19th centuries Ravello was rediscovered by a variety of artists, musicians, and writers, including Richard Wagner, M. C. Escher, Giovanni Boccaccio, Virginia Woolf and American writer Gore Vidal.

SIENA
Siena is situated in Central Tuscany, and is capital of the homonymous province. The Palio, is a horse race mounted SB (bareback) between the various contrade of Siena who monopolise the attention of the city for several days as the palio is not only a historical event or reinterpretation of an ancient medieval Joust, but is the expression of the ancient and rooted tradition. The palio is the fruit of a careful and maniacal organization on the part of the city districts, leading to an intense social and associative life throughout the year. Also, Siena has been declared UNESCO World Heritage.

ORVIETO
Orvieto is located in the South-western part of Umbria, in the province of Terni, on the border with the province of Viterbo in Lazio region. Orvieto rises on a cliff of Tufa stone, which dominates the valley below where rivers flow rivers Chiani and Straw shortly before merging into the Tiber. This enormous volcanic tufa platform, which heaves brownish from twenty to fifty meters from the floor of the campaign, was created by the action of some eruptive volcanoes, which filed an enormous amount of materials. In the heart of the city lies a subterranean cave made of rich archaeological finds uncovered recently after centuries of silence.
